
Climate Advocacy Rooted in Faith, Tradition and Community: The ‘Tu Bishvat’ Virtual Lobby Day

Dr. Mirele B. Goldsmith
Dr. Mirele B. Goldsmith is an environmental psychologist, educator and activist living in Bethesda, Md. Her expertise is in how to change human behavior to solve environmental problems. She is the co- founder of Jewish Earth Alliance, a national advocacy network raising a moral voice on climate change to the U.S. Congress.
Goldsmith attended the U.N. Summit on Climate Change in Copenhagen and organized Jews to participate in the People’s Climate Marches in New York and Washington. She directed Hazon’s Jewish Greening Fellowship, mobilizing 55 synagogues and organizations in the New York City region to respond to climate change. She has shared Jewish environmental teachings in interfaith settings, including Kathmandu, the Salisbury Cathedral and the Parliament of World Religions, and participated in the Green Attica Symposium in 2018.
Goldsmith recently authored “How to Change Minds: Lessons from Jonah” in The Sacred Earth: Jewish Perspectives on Our Planet (CCAR 2023.)
