Dr. Ilan Peleg

Dr. Ilan Peleg is the Charles A. Dana Professor of Government and Law at Lafayette College, He taught for 20 years at the Reconstuctionist Rabbinical College. He is the author or editor of 16 books, including Democratizing the Hegemonic State (Cambridge, 2007) and Israel’s Palestinians: The Conflict Within (Cambridge, 2011), and a frequent speaker on Middle East issues. He is in the process of completing a book on Israel’s current democratic crisis. Peleg is the Founding Editor-in-Chief of Israel Studies Forum (now the Israel Studies Review) and is the 2024 recipient of the Lifelong Achievement Award of the Association for Israel Studies and served in the past as the President of the AIS.
