Professor Daphna Hacker

Professor Daphna Hacker is a legal scholar and a sociologist. She is a full professor at the Law Faculty and the Women and Gender Studies Program, Tel Aviv University. Her socio-legal research focuses on the intersection of law, families and gender. Hacker has published numerous articles in leading legal and socio-legal journals, and is the author of three books. She is also a known Israeli feminist activist who has won prizes for her contribution to the promotion of womenโ€™s status in her country. She currently serves as an expertโ€ฏmember of the International Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) for the term 2023-26, and as the chair of the Israel Womenโ€™s Network.ย
