Rabbi Helen Plotkin is the director of Mekom Torah, an online Jewish learning project for adults and families. She is a graduate of Reconstructionist Rabbinical College, where she has taught Biblical Hebrew and other subjects. She co-founded the Swarthmore College Beit Midrash, and taught Biblical Hebrew and classical Jewish texts there for 20 years. She is a particular fan of the open-ended, imaginative arguments of the Jewish interpretive tradition. Before devoting herself to Jewish texts, she spent years studying ancient Chinese and pioneering the use of the internet in education.
