Okay! Here you go! You asked for it..
Simple parts: The “God” I could believe in does not care if I believe.
As for prayer: If you pray for something, it’s to enhance your efforts.
In continuing, I ask rather rhetorically: Have you ever tried to discuss with someone who is clueless?
I feel like that clueless person; so if you find me so, then just give me some platitude and let me go on my merry, ignorant way.
Last night (I keep thinking what I do is my last effort) I attended the first course on Zohar, hoping it would enlighten me about the heart and soul of Judaism. I was clueless and still am. And It (and Torah discussions) seem to have nothing to do with what is happening today. I’ll not likely attend the other two classes. Of course I do not expect any sort of refund. I’d rather it go as a donation towards efforts to make the world a better place.
